Family Assistance Fund
Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation (NNCCF) assists families with everyday costs such as household living expenses, mortgage payments, rent, food, utilities, travel expenses related to treatment, medical expenses, insurance deductibles, uncovered procedures and additional expenses the family may need assistance with during the child’s treatment.
We currently serve families with children who are under the age of 19 years old and are in treatment for orin follow-up care for cancer, in northern Nevada and the eastern Sierra, including Lake Tahoe, Truckee, Quincy and Susanville, California. Our southern service border is Tonopah, Nevada. While all applications must be received prior to the child’s 19th birthday, if medical treatment is ongoing, NNCCF will continue to assist families until the child is 21. More Information.
Application for Assistance
Family Care Package
When a family is referred to NNCCF, a personalized Family Care Package is created and sent to their home or hospital room. Contents inside the package include a $200 gas card, a $200 grocery card, a Northern Nevada Childhood Cancer Resource Guide, books about childhood cancer, journals for family members, a gift for the patient, gift(s) for the sibling(s), and anything else that may apply. In addition to the package, a custom fleece snuggle blanket is made for the especially for the child with love by a NNCCF volunteer. Patients love their snuggle blankets and usually the blanket becomes a part of the child’s life, accompanying them to treatments, scans, appointments, etc.
