Research

Every year in March, brave volunteers throughout northern Nevada accept the lofty challenge issued by NNCCF and the St. Baldrick’s Foundation to shave their heads in exchange for donations to help raise money for childhood cancer research. Spectators attend the event and watch as shavees go bald to raise funds and awareness for our children at this annual celebration. The funds are raised locally as part of a worldwide effort to conquer childhood cancer.

Since 2006, northern Nevada St. Baldrick’s events have produced 1,800 shaven heads and raised more than $1.1 million for childhood cancer research!

A young shavee gets ready to go bald for children battling cancer at the 2012 event in Reno, NV.
