Casey’s Heroes Holiday Drive
titles_underlne

Casey was a beloved mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend to all she left behind. The amount of support the Wakefield family has received shows the major impact this woman has had on the northern Nevada community! Her selflessness towards her family and friends will be deeply missed. She was always taking care of everyone around her, ensuring their needs were taken care of before her own. Her family would love to keep her spirit alive through the generosity she exhibited daily by asking the community to donate to northern Nevada’s young cancer warriors throughout the month of December in her honor.  Casey’s Heroes Holiday Drive will be accepting monetary donations in memory of Casey, as well as toys that can be found on our Amazon wishlist

Donald Carano II was born and raised a native Nevadan, something of which he is very proud. Growing up in and around The Eldorado Hotel & Casino, founded in 1973 by his grandfather and namesake, provided for a unique childhood learning experience. Donald began working in the hotel’s famous Pasta Shop at 12 years of age. After graduating high school at Bishop Manogue Catholic High School, he attended junior college in southern California to play golf on the college’s team, later returning to attend the University of Nevada, Reno, to take in various business management classes. Subsequently, Donald attended his parents’ alma mater, The Culinary Institute of America, obtaining a degree in culinary arts. This new career took him to Columbus, Ohio, where he held various positions in food & beverage at the Eldorado Scioto Downs. In 2018, Donald returned to Reno to assume the role of Director of Food and Beverage at THE ROW. In January 2022, Donald accepted the position of Director of Community Relations. At that time, he also joined the board of directors for the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows and, in January 2023, stepped up as treasurer for the club’s Young Leaders Committee. In addition, Donald currently holds a seat on the board of directors for the Reno/Sparks Chamber of Commerce. He thoroughly enjoys supporting community partners and volunteering at events and fundraisers that benefit non-profit organizations in northern Nevada. When not focused on his career, you can find Donald sharing time with his wife, Bailey, playing golf and, of course, cooking.
