Brenda
Programs and Services Coordinator

Brenda Preza was born in Los Angeles, California, and spent the first seven years of her life in Guatemala, Central America.  She lived in Las Vegas for 23 years and has 2 AMAZING kiddos! Damian Cuauhtemoc is a senior in high school, and Azteca joined the Airforce Academy at UNLV.  Brenda is truly blessed. She moved to Reno, Nevada, in 2023, where she currently lives with her boyfriend (the love of her life).  Brenda enjoys Spending time with her kids and family.  Loves Latin dancing, cooking, and a good meal at a good restaurant.  She wears her cultura on her sleeve, pours her corazon into her family and community, and is driven to create a positive impact in el mundo.

Brenda spent three years positively impacting the lives of critically ill children while working with the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation in Las Vegas, Nevada.  She now brings her experience and true passion for helping others to the Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation as a Program and Services Coordinator. Some of her duties will be working directly with the children and families to provide them with the many services offered by the NNCCF and coordinating family events and family care packages. Brenda will also work with Hispanic Families and provide them with translation services.

Why I started working at NNCCF:

I started working at NNCCF because I wanted to continue working with families who are impacted by childhood critical illness.  It is my passion to help others.  It is extremely empowering knowing that we make positive impacts on the lives of these children and their families.

Ask Me About:

Old School Mexican Movies.  I’m talking from back in the 40s.  I literally grew up watching these classics with my grandmother.  Pedro Infante, Jorge Negrete, Cantinflas, Antonio Aguilar, I can go on forever.

What I think is Amazing:

Life is amazing.  Taking time to enjoy the little things that life offers.

Something quirky about me:

I put things in a “safe place” and then can’t find them when I desperately need them. The crazy thing is that I find those things I put “safely away” when I don’t need them.

My role model:

My Mother.  Because at 74 years of age, she continues to be the strong woman she is despite the life struggles that she has endured.  My mother also believes that everything happens at the right time for the right reason.  And that God is in control.

My favorite quote:

“Aprende del pasado, vive el presente, y trabaja para el futuro.” (Learn from the past, live in the present, and work for your future).  Just Keep Swimming!!!
