Proceeds benefit the Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation and childhood cancer research
In 2018, the San Francisco Giants organization provided our community with an amazing opportunity to raise additional support for our local children and childhood cancer research through A Giant Event for Childhood Cancer. In the last three years, the Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation (NNCCF) has donated $180,000 to childhood cancer research from event proceeds. In total, NNCCF has raised more than $3 million for childhood cancer research since 2006.
NNCCF supports families with help, hope and courage from the moment a child is diagnosed and beyond, but the most important priority for every young cancer warrior is a cure. That’s why NNCCF raises awareness of childhood cancer and advocates for better life-saving treatment and the search for a cure. In 20 years, there have been pivotal improvements in treatment and the 5-year survival rate for a standard risk cancer diagnosis has increased from 79% to 85%. The Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation (NNCCF) is the only organization solely dedicated to supporting children with cancer in northern Nevada.
