Alexandra Macdonald is originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, and moved to Reno after high school to pursue a degree in Journalism with an emphasis in Media Production. While in school, she launched a freelance photography business and worked in a variety of customer service roles. Following her undergrad she continued serving others through her work at OrangeTree Productions, using storytelling and creative collaboration to support clients. These experiences helped her discover a deep love for human connection and a true passion for serving and supporting others.
In her free time, she enjoys exploring the outdoors and all that Northern Nevada has to offer with her puppy, spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking, and making meaningful memories with family and friends.
Why I started working at NNCCF:
From a young age, I always imagined myself working in nonprofit spaces, working with kids in some capacity, and doing a job with a higher purpose. After hearing the stories of these families and seeing firsthand the meaningful ways this foundation serves them, I knew I wanted to have a bigger part in it all. I’ve never found a nonprofit quite like NNCCF and feel so honored to be a part of this mission and team.
Ask me about:
anything and everything photography, raising a puppy or baking.
What I think is amazing:
We are each born with unique gifts to make a difference in the lives of others.
Something quirky about me:
I like to savor desserts the right way—with a sample spoon.
My role model:
My role models are the people closest to me—my family and friends. Their compassion, humility and encouragement have shaped who I am and how I strive to serve others
My favorite quote:
“Love is never stationary in the end. Love doesn’t just keep thinking about it or keep planning for it. Simply put: love does!” – Bob Goff
